3D Printed Enigma Machine

Part 1

This is the first in a series of videos where I try to build an enigma machine with only an Ender 3 3D printer and pieces I find lying around my shed or can order cheaply online.

Part 2

In this video I make considerable progress and have created the scrambler (all three rotors and a reflector) as well as the base plate and sides of the scrambler. I discover a few problems with trying to exactly replicate a real enigma and deviate slightly from the designs in order to make the machine more practical to build. When my 3D printer jams up I have to fix it and this delays the creation of the project significantly.

Part 3

Having installed the centering devices on the rotors I began to build the rest of the machine including the drivers, compensator, keyboard and lightboard. In this video I also set up a Thingiverse repository for the 3d files I used in the machine. By the end of the video the machine functions mechanically and the stepping of the rotors works.
